Co2Exist: Shape of Sustainability

Co2Exist is a sustainability startup, helping companies, governments, and individuals realise their climate commitments on a global scale. They consult, plan, and execute climate-action projects, propelling their clients closer to a carbon-neutral status. Their brief to us was to create an identity that is modern, and reflects the true spirit of their business.

Challenge:

Since this is a relatively new category, the identity needed to convey more than just the broad concept of sustainability - something that separates them from non-profit organisations and other activist groups.

The Solution:

We took a closer look at the brand’s business, and identified three kinds of projects that they undertake - restoring water bodies, renewable energy, and reforestation projects. These also happen to be the key pillars of sustainability. For the styling, we wanted something that was symbolic of balance and discipline - because that’s what sustainability is all about. So we chose the clean symmetry of geometric arches, and used them to compose the ‘CO’ in their name.

While the primary logo is created in white and green, we used two more colours to signify different aspects of sustainability - blue for water body restoration, and yellow for sustainable energy - each being one of the best ways for companies to reduce the burden of their operations on the planet.

We also used the arches to create a refreshing design language in communication across platforms.
